First, let’s get the business out of the way. I’m an experienced digital producer with strong backgrounds in user experience (UX) research and design, and communications. What does that mean exactly? Well, I currently build user-friendly digital experiences for a Connecticut university. I’m talking websites, microsites, landing pages, and lending support in leveraging applications and software that would be beneficial to the user — prospective and current students, staff and faculty — while supporting the brand of the university.
I have a master’s degree in interactive media with a concentration in UX, which means I took a lot of courses on UX research and web design, information architecture, prototyping, and media production. At the end of all of that, they gave me a piece of paper making it all official.
Before that, I wrote a lot in a professional capacity. Web stories, profiles, press releases, magazine articles, you name it. I was also a book editor in a past life.
Now that I got that out of the way, I can tell you that my main passion right now is acting like a complete idiot to make my firstborn laugh. Anything from singing the “Skinnamarink” song in a high falsetto (terribly, my wife would add) to howling like a wolf. I often get mixed reviews from my target audience.
When I’m not working or acting a fool in front of my child, I love to run slowly, read often, cook kind of well, and get my heart broken by Arsenal FC time and time again.
